Biography
Jon Ryburg, President of DeskSpace Anyplace.com, Inc. and Facility Performance Group, Inc., was formerly Senior Research and Consulting Associate with the Herman Miller Research Corporation and Facility Management Institute. He holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Design from the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago. Jon has presented his research on workplace trends at forums across the U.S., including IFMA, AEC Systems, NEOCON, IBI, ACM and the National Research Councils Conference on the Future of Federal and Private Sector Facilities, among others. He is the author of many articles that have appeared in trade, professional and management publications, including Architectural Record and the Conference Board magazine, Across the Board.He has also authored and contributed to several books and studies related to the changing organization, workplace trends and design, including Electronic Enterprises: The Future of Organizations for the Office of Technology Assessment, United States Congress in 1994; and the current ANSI-Human Factors Society's National Ergonomic Standard for computer users in the workplace. Jon's views on workplace trends have most recently been heard on National Public Radio (NPR's All Things Considered [David Molpus]), referenced in Business Week, the New York Times and in the International Herald Tribune (London). Jon has lectured on behavioral research methods for human-centered design in the graduate Industrial Design Program at the Institute of Design, and also served on the Advisory Board, and contributed to the publication Alt. Office Journal.
